Introduction
Physiology of pregnancy and labour and minor complaints associated with pregnancy
Antenatal care
Antenatal care, pregnancy and obesity, vaccines and anti-D administration, and management of common symptoms
Early pregnancy
Nausea and vomiting including hyperemesis, bleeding in early pregnancy and ectopic pregnancy
Late pregnancy
Prelabour rupture of membranes, amniotic fluid abnormalities, antepartum hemorrhage and antenatal monitoring
Maternal infection
Group B streptococci in pregnancy, genital herpes in pregnancy and maternal sepsis
Labour management
Intrapartum management, breech, monitoring, VBAC, induction and management and emergencies
Postnatal care
Postpartum care, mental health care during and after pregnancy, and thrombo-prophylaxis
Obstetric ultrasound
First, second, and third trimester ultrasound scans including fetal growth and Dopplers
Obstetric procedures
Cesarean section, episiotomy, instrumental delivery and repair of perineal tears
Final examination
MCQ paper-based exam
The final assessment consists of 2 papers; each contains 60 MCQ questions
Fees
Fees are country-based. Please contact
fees for candidates from high income countries are $500. Fees are $350 for intermediate income and $200 for low income countries
